segundo a\u00f1o consecutivo el 11 de abril Alajuela no retumbar\u00e1 a causa de la pandemia que golpea a la humanidad, pero eso no impide que los costarricenses recuerden a su h\u00e9roe, Juan Santamar\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Fue en 1856 que se desarroll\u00f3 la campa\u00f1a nacional, esto debido a la invasi\u00f3n de los filibusteros, liderados por el estadounidense William Walker, que pretend\u00eda apoderarse del territorio centroamericano.<\/p>\n<p>El improvisado ejercito costarricense, comandado por el presidente Juan Rafael Mora y los generales Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Ca\u00f1as y Jos\u00e9 Joaqu\u00edn Mora, hab\u00eda logrado expulsar de Costa Rica a los invasores, el 20 de marzo, en la conocida Batalla de Santa Rosa.<\/p>\n<p>Es as\u00ed como los filibusteros se fueron y se refugiaron en Rivas, hasta donde los ticos los siguieron para evitar cualquier nuevo intento por ingresar a Costa Rica y adue\u00f1arse del pa\u00eds, como lo pretend\u00edan.<\/p>\n<p>Tras un duro enfrentamiento Juan Santamar\u00eda es quien toma una tea y en medio del intercambio de disparos prende fuego al Mes\u00f3n de Guerra, donde estaban atrincherados los enemigos.<\/p>\n<p>Quedando mal herido, da su \u00faltimo aliento, pero logra el objetivo de vencer a los invasores y poner fin a la guerra, que podr\u00eda decirse fue por la independencia del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Por esto, Juan Satamar\u00eda, joven nacido en Alajuela, donde hoy est\u00e1 su estatua, parque y museo, se convierte en H\u00e9roe Nacional y es recordado por la historia nacional.<\/p>\n<div class=\"_3d-flip-book
